Objective
This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) defines the processes for overseeing AI model lifecycle events under the AI-SDLC. It establishes methods for ensuring compliance with AI regulatory board requirements, continuous performance monitoring, data governance, and structured communication among key stakeholders.
Scope
This SOP applies to all AI models developed, tested, and deployed under the AI-SDLC within the organization. It specifically addresses procedures from model inception to decommissioning, ensuring ethical and regulatory compliance throughout the model’s life.

Activity 3.1: Model Lifecycle Planning

- Project Sponsor approves budget and resource allocation.

Activity 3.2: Validation and Deployment Preparation
- QA Review
- QA verifies that the model meets specified accuracy, fairness, and compliance metrics.

- Operations configures staging and production environments to host the model.
- Development Team ensures version control procedures are in place.
- IRB Re-Review (If Major Changes)
- If any major changes occurred in the model or data processing, re-submit to AI-IRB Liaison for sign-off.
Activity 3.3: Deployment
- Deployment Plan Execution
- Development and Operations coordinate model deployment.

- Production Rollout
- Operations ensures live environment is stable.
- QA monitors initial predictions for anomalies.
- Model Verification
- Data Science checks performance metrics in real-time to confirm model meets acceptance criteria.
Activity 3.4: Post-Deployment Monitoring and Retraining
- Model Monitoring
- QA and Technical Support track incident tickets related to model output.
- Data drift triggers from performance metrics, including recursive self-improvement subroutine deviations.
- Retraining or Replacement
- If performance decays beyond threshold, the Data Science Team notifies the Project Sponsor.
- New or updated model developed, integrating Exochain Peer Reviews for model verification. AI-IRB sign-off if changes are significant.
- Lessons Learned & Post Implementation Review
- Document what worked well or poorly in the development and deployment processes.
- Summarize in a Post Implementation Report.
4. Forms
- Model Lifecycle Checklist: Documents the status at each gate (design, test, deploy).
- AI-IRB Compliance Form: Summarizes ethical considerations for IRB sign-off.
- Deployment Approval Form: Captures final sign-off from QA, Ops, and AI Project Sponsor.
5. Exceptions
- Emergency Hotfix: If a critical issue is discovered, the standard gate process may be skipped with AI-IRB Liaison authorization.
- Experimental Features: May run in limited “Beta” environments with user consent. Must be disclosed in risk logs.
