Scenario

A press story runs about a public-sector system your board governs. Half of it is wrong: dates, mechanisms, a misread of what the system decides. Half of it is right, including one thing your organization has not publicly acknowledged.

Your task

Decide what you publish. Correct what is wrong without using the errors to discredit what is right. Acknowledge what is right without converting the acknowledgment into public relations. Specify the form: dated statements that are never rewritten, corrections that accrue as later dated records, and claims held to the same discipline this curriculum applies to its own — verified, unverified, or retired. State what you refuse to claim even though it would help.

What the council weighs

Correction register against PR register. Trust in your answer should come from its verifiability, not its warmth; the reader who distrusts you is the one you are writing for.

1,000–1,500 words. AI assistance is permitted and must be disclosed in your attestation; undisclosed assistance is grounds for revocation. Graded by council against the five rubric dimensions in the assessment specification.
